Business Profile Assignment on Talisman Centre

Non-profit sector: Doesn't issue stock shares or distribute it's surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead uses the funds to achieve it's goals.Talisman Centre is a place where people could go to do a variety of things such as play badminton, swim, train for track and field, work out on there weight machines, or just relax inside one of their hot tubs. The Talisman Centre has been in business for 27 years and counting. The need that the talisman centre provides to people is that they provide exercise to people who might not get much any other way  




The Lindsey Park Sports Centre was founded by the City of Calgary while Ralph Klein was the mayor. It was built for the Western Canada Summer Games in 1983, the original cost of the centre was $24.7 million dollars. The original facility was 130,000 square foot area. In 2002 The City of Calgary sold the naming rights for $10 million dollars to Talisman Energy to have it be named the Talisman Centre for 30 years.
